Travel Gear

We love to travel, especially as a family.  We are family of 5: Myself, my wife Christina, daughter Emma (13), and twin boys Riley and Aidan (9).  We do most of our travels the good old fashion way, the great American road trip!  We have logged many miles and have traveld all over the US since our kids were real young.  It’s a hard to take long road trips when kids are young, but I encourage you not to be deterred.  Once you get a system down, traveling with diapers, play pins, and toys becomes a snap and you’ll have happy kids.

Our Rig

We love our 2010 Toyota Highlander, it is the perfect cross country vehicle.  It also serves a great everyday vehicle for dragging kids from sport to sport (the back is usually filled with soccer, baseball and tennis equipment; as well as folding chairs for the parents).  We call our rig a sport-truck, not because of superior performance but because it’s filled with sports equipment.  When not being used to cart kids around, it’s the modern day road master!  Logging mile upon mile, this master of the road comfortable seats up to 8 and gets 20 miles to the gallon.

Thule Cargo Box

Thule Evolution roof mounted cargo box.  Thule gear is expensive; however, buying Thule is like making a long term investment.  We’ve owned our Thule cargo box for over 10 years and three cars ago.

Camera Strap

I recently bought a couple of new camera straps from Lance Camera Strap.  I love these straps!  I have both a wrist and and adjustable neck straps that are extemely comfortable and functional.
