The Road Less Traveled

“Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don’t complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don’t bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and Live!” – Bob Marley

Cades Cove Old Grist Mill

without comments

The Grist Mill in Cade’s Cove was constructed in 1868 by John P. Cable (1819–1891).  Constructed as a series of elaborate diversions along Mill Creek and Forge Creek, it has enough water power for the mill’s overshot wheel.  The Mill today is still operational and you can purchase corn or wheat flour during you visit.  After visiting the mill, work your way up stream by following the water diversion and you will find a picturesque white water stream that the kids can play in.
